Introduction

The library functions as an information service centre for INTEC Education College. The library was established in 1985 to assist students and staff in their studies and researches by providing information and library materials, services and facilities which support their academic needs.

Presently, the library has a collection of about 78,935 volumes which consist of books, conference papers, thesis and other print materials. Approximately 205 serial titles are on subscription in hard copy and a total of 3415 titles of journals in full text are subscribed from various online databases.

The discipline coverage of the library resources is wide. The collection coverage includes Engineering, Technology, Business, Economics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Architecture, Language, Arts, Psychology, Education, Accounting, Law, Music and others. Library membership is open to students and INTEC's academic and non-academic staff.

Objectives

  • To provide the latest collections of resources and other variety of information through newer media / ICT for the advancement of knowledge
  • To provide renowned facilities to the client by offering trained, skillful and proactive workforce through constant training and education.

Responsibilities

To be recognized as a Center of Excellence in providing the INTEC community with a wide range of reading and research materials. These are varied in collection and well supported by information seeking technologies and up-to-date sources of information.
