Certified Accounting Technician (CAT)

Programme Background

The Certified Accounting Technician qualification is a programme at the technician level under the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). This qualification is a combination of study and practical experience designed to build knowledge in accountancy, IT, and management. The CAT programme structure and its examination is under the ambit of ACCA. IPAC Education Centre conducts classes for students who wish to obtain this qualification.

Entry Requirements

  • Pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with at least five credits including Bahasa Malaysia, Mathematics and English, or
  • Other qualifications with equivalent recognition by the Malaysian Government.

CAT Qualification Papers

FA1      - Recording Financial Transaction
MA1     - Management Information
FA2      - Maintaining Financial Records
MA2     - Managing Costs and Finance
FAB      - Accountant in Business
FFA      - Financial Accounting
FMA     - Management Accounting

And any two (2) of the following:

FAU     - Foundations in Audit
FTX     - Foundations in Taxation
FFM    - Foundations in Financial Management
